Which Tree Species Should You Buy?
If you are planning a new development or perhaps the redevelopment of an existing public space, then you will have a lot to think about. You must consider how the open space will be used and whether there is sufficient room for people to sit, walk or simply pass by each other without overcrowding. Along with considering the practical elements of the space, you will need to think about the aesthetics. Even a recently landscaped area can look barren and empty if it doesn't have sufficient trees. Trees can not only improve the exterior appearance of any property but can also add natural elegance to any outdoor space. However, before you start to buy and plant trees, you must be certain that you have the right trees for your location. Here are two questions that you need to be able to answer before selecting the trees for your outside area.
What are the environmental conditions?
When you visit a wholesale tree nursery, you will be confronted by a huge variety of tree species from which to make your choice. Many of these trees could look great when you first plant them on your site, but not all of them will be ideally suited to that environment. You must think carefully about your location and try to identify the trees that are most likely to thrive there. Think about what the prevailing climate is likely to be, how strong the wind is and which direction it will be coming from. You will also need to consider the condition of the soil and how well it drains after rain. Finally, you will need to be aware of how tall the tree is likely to grow and whether it could become an obstruction or whether there is anything that could potentially block the growth of the tree.
How will the tree grow?
When you plant a tree, it may start small, but over time it will grow and form into a distinct shape, wwith each species of tree taking on a distinctive shape as the tree reaches maturity. Depending on how you want to use the trees, certain shapes may be more useful than others. Do you want the trees to obscure an unattractive building or to provide a natural defence against a prevalent strong wind? Do you want to plant trees that will only require a minimum of maintenance in the future? Each type of tree is shaped differently, and when you look around the wholesale tree nursery, you must give careful thought to which of the trees would be the best fit for your purposes.
